Landscapers In Disguise

Embarking on a new landscaping project is exciting! Whether you are looking to put in a new garden, install a pool, or lay a new patio, you are undoubtedly overjoyed at the thought of improving the landscaping of your home. But, how do you know which landscapers to choose for the job?

Landscapers

The term "landscapers" is often used as a general term to apply toward any person that takes part in the design or upkeep of landscaping. Therefore, landscapers include Landscape Architects, landscape designers, gardeners, pool and spa specialists, or patio and concrete designers, depending on how the term is used.

Landscape Architects

If you are looking for someone to help you design the layout of your landscaping, a Landscape Architect is the professional you need. These landscapers work with the homeowner or businesses to develop an overall landscaping design. This design should be both pleasing to you and also compliment the style of your home and its existing landscape.

Sometimes, the Landscape Architect helps to put your new landscaping in place. Other times, he or she will hire the contractors to do the job for you. Or, if you like, the Landscape Architect can simply develop the plan for you. If they make the plan, it is up to you to either do the work yourself or to find other landscapers to finish the job for you.

Gardeners as Landscapers

After hiring a Landscape Architect to create a plan for you, you can choose to hire gardeners to put the plants or flowers into place. Often, these particular landscapers work to help maintain your landscaping design. You can hire gardeners to come to your home periodically to water and fertilize your flowers or lawn. That way, you will not be burdened with the upkeep.

Pool and Spa Designers and Contractors as Landscapers

Pool and spa designers and contractors are specialized landscapers that help with the design and installation of water features into your landscaping plan. The designers will help you decide where to place your pool or spa. They will also help you determine the proper size, shape, and style of pool or spa to best fit your space. Generally, contractors work for the designers to install your new pool or spa.

Patio and Concrete Designer as Landscapers

Landscapers who specialize in patio and concrete help you with the design layout. Patios can be created using bricks, concrete or asphalt. Concrete designs can also be laid in the yard, or added as curbs and other specialized features. These add definition to your overall landscaping design by creating specific areas in your garden. Again, a Landscape Architect may help draw up the plans to include the addition of patio and concrete designs, but the designer is generally the one that actually builds the structure for you.

Locate a good landscaper by looking and your neighbor's yards. The one who have beautiful gardens have great landscapers. Ask them, they'll love it. Imitation (or at least borrowing their designer) is the most sincere form of flattery.
